Description
In the past ‘Château-Verdun’ was a Fortified House surrounded by nature, halfway between Aosta and the pass of Gran San Bernardo.
Since the 11th century, the House and its adjoining land has always served the Hospice of Gran San Bernardo, both as a refuge for travelers and donkeys and as a farm supplying the Hospice itself.
Château-Verdun has been completely restored in order to provide present day needs. Since 1991 it has become a guest house open to everybody.This accommodation facility is “Friend of the Via Francigena”.
