Your trailhead is Bourg-Saint-Pierre. Follow the summer path that leads to the Azerin Hut (2046m, yellow signs Azerin – Creux du Mâ), crossing the bridge at an altitude of 1953m. Once you are in Azerin, inforcare the upstream bowl. Carry on as far as Challand d’en Haut, where the superb view on the Catogne offers an ideal resting place. Climb up the vast Challand Coombe. Keep a watchful eye on the vast slopes to your right, coming down from Bonhoome du Tsapi. At an altitude of 2400m, make a left towards a small plateau at 2444m. Go up the less steep slopes, then reach the ridge SSE: follow its line as far as the summit.
At an altitude of 2802m, the Bonhomme du Tsapi offers a sublime glance onto Grand Combin and Mont Vélan. Located close to Italy, this route is an excellent introduction to the wild mountains of low Valais.
